Oh, god, the terrible things I read on Facebook. “Princess Leia is long overdue for a comeuppance.”
Really? Because, I mean, she only had her homeworld destroyed and her family killed, saw people die to defend her, watch the man she’d fallen in love with be tortured and frozen in carbonite right as she basically realized she was in love with him, was held prisoner after a rescue attempt went poorly, saw her brother go off to be captured by the Empire right as she basically realized he was her brother, had her son fall to the Dark Side, had her brother vanish from the galaxy, had the New Republic fall apart and then be destroyed, and had her husband die at the hands of their son.
So explain to me where she’s “long overdue” for anything, or that she’s done anything less than persevere under the roughest circumstances of any character of the original trilogy.
